When you're a venue that's been around for two generations, the term Full Circle starts to show itself regularly. We are fortunate indeed to be here to witness the folk, trad, Americana (call it what you will) music torch is in excellent hands and will no doubt continue to live on for generations beyond our lifetimes.
Two of our college-age award-winning finest - one a Lehigh Valley native, the other a New York son - and neither a stranger to our stage:
Brittany Ann stays busy as a Temple University senior and is one of the Northeast’s most inspiring, ambitious young songwriters. Combining sublime melodies with sophisticated guitar picking, and the seasoned lyrics of an old soul, Brittany Ann has perfected the art of connecting with her audience. "This young lady is the future of folk music" -Gene Shay, WXPN and the Philadelphia Folk Song Society
Anthony da Costa is a student at Columbia University, and has been impressing our music community since his early teen years. At the age of 16, he was the youngest winner ever at Falcon Ridge and Kerrville Folk Festivals. In 2009, MSNBC named Anthony to be in the "Top 5 Up-&-Coming Young Singers". His ninth album, Secret Handshake, is scheduled for release in April, and features a slew of wonderful NYC musicians. Check his web site for a video of his first national television appearance in a band, on Conan O'Brien's show.
