Bill Warfield quintet
If you like jazz standards, then you won’t want to miss the energizing sounds
of the Bill Warfield Quintet. Bill has been playing for over twenty years and
he’ll be bringing some of New York’s finest musicians with him. This group
features Bill on trumpet, Dave Riekenberg on tenor sax, Tim Harrison
on piano, Bob Bowan on bass and Scott Neumann on drums. They
will be playing that great hard bop sound from the likes of Coltrane to
Cole Porter, both the well known and the more obscure. This promises to
be a terrific show in a great room!

the unpronounceable
Grown out of the hinters of Northeastern Pennsyltucky circa 1997, the
unpronounceable are the ass-kicking, money-maker-shaking love child of old, new,
borrowed, & blue – a long-awaited tribute to those lost years when Elvis
sang Hank Williams tunes with Black Sabbath while Duke
and Satchmo called out the changes. They call it Countrifunked
Jazzabilly, and it’s really just what rock ‘n’ roll would’ve been if it hadn’t
wasted all that time on hairspray. The band “swaps instruments on stage to play
an original mix of swing jazz and blues rock sprinkled with the inflections of
rockabilly and jam band improvisation. Strains of Duke Ellington, Radiohead,
Muddy Waters and George Gershwin combine for a concoction of sound
similar to the Long Island Iced Tea: indescribable, tasty and powerful.” – The
Morning Call. Comprising members Pete Gustavson (guit-fiddle,
bass-fiddle, croons), Dan Kinsley (ivories, guit-fiddle, bass-fiddle),
Adam Gustavson (guit-fiddle, bass-fiddle) and Justin "J-Ride" Riddle
(skins & cymbals), the unpronounceable, who've borrowed the souls of some of
rock ‘n’ roll’s greatest founding members, continue to stun and amaze everyone
lucky enough to see them perform. Reserve your seats soon for a very special,
smoke-free, BYO evening when the unpronounceable will grace our humble stage!

07 Thu 8:00 pm | Bill Kirchen
– PEARLS
SERIES
Grammy-nominated guitarist, singer and songwriter Bill Kirchen was named “A
Titan of the Telecaster” by Guitar Player magazine. It was Uncle Bill’s
trademark licks which sent Commander Cody’s Lost Planet Airmen classic
“Hot Rod Lincoln” into the top ten nationwide in 1972. Bill’s music career spans
over 30 years, and his performances recall a half-century of guitar legends,
“from C&W virtuosos like Merle Travis, Joe Maphis and Grady Martin
to rock legends like Scotty Moore, James Burton, Duane Eddy, all the way
to Jimi Hendrix”, and include ALL the blues Kings – B.B., Albert,
and Freddy. His recent CD Hammer of the Honky Tonk Gods was at #5 and
climbing on the AMA charts, last we looked. “He's like a devastating culmination
of the elegant and funky... a really sensational musician, with enormous depth.”
- Nick Lowe. Bill has been too long gone from our humble stage, and we’re
thrilled to welcome him back at this especially high time!

SERIES
From Belfast in Northern Ireland, Seamus sings music of his native land with
emotion born of knowing its history and conflicts firsthand. A master showman of
exceptional skill, he maintains riveting interaction with his audience, offering
endless requests and covering the gamut from Irish tunes to Texas Swing.
Fast-paced humor is much of what Seamus does, whether he's telling a series of
rapid-fire jokes or launching into lyrical parody. He's one of the Lehigh
Valley's favorites, and we're tickled he's coming back to Godfrey's stage!

09 Sat 8:00 pm | Steve James
Quite a few years ago, Steve James came to Godfrey’s and flat tore the place
up. He’s a solo blues man who rocks out on bottleneck resonator guitar, parlor
guitar, and resonator mandolin, working his magic on standards (his take on
Stack O’Lee is truly amazing) and serving up his own rocking, rollicking, funky
blues tunes. He’s a protégé of Furry Lewis and Sam McGee, a guitar
teacher in his own right, and quite a spinner of tales. Check out his web site,
and then come out and see him in person. He’s the real thing, and it’s good to
have him back.

15 Fri 8:00 pm | Little Toby Walker
Media Sponsor - WNTI
We know the Godfrey’s crowd loves blues guitarists with National guitars, and
Little Toby Walker is one of the best. When Toby opened for David
Jacobs-Strain back in October, David’s comment was basically “what is HE
doing opening for ME? It should be the other way around!” Toby was a Formal
Showcase artist at this year’s Northeast Regional Folk Alliance, and got the
biggest standing ovation of any performer, playing for a crowd of musicians,
agents, and presenters…a pretty tough bunch to please. We know he’ll get at
least one standing ovation here, the only question is, will you be here to enjoy
it?

composer and founding member of Zen For Primates, Mike Krisukas set out to do
a new CD, no one, including the band knew what to expect. But Mary Ann’s
Dead Husband Was My Stella Novagratz, Zen’s 6th CD promises to be the

Chamberlain; David Letterman Band sax player, Bruce Kapler on

The Arrogant Worms - Sold Out!
Look out, the Arrogant Worms are back! This Canadian trio is a life raft in a
swamp of popular music, and probably the silliest act ever to grace Godfrey’s
stage (or Musikfest’s, for that matter). Their fantastic stage presence,
brilliant lyrics, rapid-fire wit and tight diamond harmonies have earned them a
place of honor in the annals of Lehigh Valley acts (and I’m sure they would have
some fun with that statement!) These guys usually pack Liederplatz and sell out
the IceHouse, so if you want to see them within spitting distance (uh oh!) you’d
better get your reservations early, or they will kick your butt!

23 Sat 8:00 pm | DAN DeCHELLIS
TRIO
Dan DeChellis is a piano-pioneer, continuously exploring the boundaries of
contemporary jazz, pop, and classical music through his original compositions
and interpretations. Described as a "truly innovative voice among improvising
musicians" by piano great, Paul Bley, Dan's music transcends the confines
of contemporary jazz, with crisp, tight hooks, lofting melodies, and creative
dynamic expression. Studying with legendary composers like Ran Blake and
Masashi Harada while a student at the New England Conservatory of Music,
his own compositions have earned him two prestigious "Meet the Composer" grants,
radio play throughout Europe, and appearances at some of the country's most
prestigious jazz spots. The Trio includes DeChellis on piano, Lehigh Valley
bassist extraordinaire Mitch Shelly, and the diverse and talented John
O'Keefe on drums A night of improvisational jazz not to be missed!

29 Fri 8:00 pm | Beppe Gambetta
For fans of HOT flatpicking, Italian acoustic guitarist Beppe Gambetta is a
jaw dropper, who is no stranger to Godfrey's or the American guitar scene. Beppe
has collaborated with masters of the acoustic scene (Gene Parsons, Tony
Trischka and many others) on ambitious projects such as reviving and
contemporizing the energy of the "brother" duets with guitar master Dr. Dan
Crary, drawing on traditional European and American guitar techniques to
develop his own original style. An accomplished author and teacher, Beppe wrote
the first Italian manual on flatpicking and recorded many instructional videos,
as well being the first to publish his own recipe book. Tonight will be a saucy
and tasty night indeed!

pop will entertain you and transport you! Hot off the griddle, their new double
CD Flapjacks From The Sky "…abounds with personality, humor, honesty,
goodness and grace, a human warmth brought on by connection to the larger whole
and a higher spirit." - Mike Jurkovic, Chronogram. That’s all well and
good, but live performance is what the Slambos are really about; these guys are
