07 Fri 8:00 pm | Mike Dugan
The Lehigh Valley is home to some fine Blues, but none better than Mike Dugan
and the Blues Mission’s special blend of “Rust Belt Blues”. With their latest
release, Mission Accomplished, Mike comes to Godfrey’s with some of the folks
from that CD, including Rob Fraser on bass, and Dave
Becker kickin’ around the percussions. Joining them for this show is
James Supra on harp. Of course Mike Dugan fronts the band on guitar
and vocals, leading the way through a variety of influences that contribute to
his own individual delivery. It’s hard to box in a Blues Mission show, as
spontaneity flies and the originality pushes the envelope of contemporary blues.

08 Sat 8:00 pm | Christine HavrillA
with opener Joey Mutis, III
Named “One of the Top Ten Indie Artists” by The Advocate Magazine in
2006, Christine Havrilla is currently touring in support of her latest release,
“Velocity.” The new album features her six-piece band and an eclectic
collection of songs. Listeners hear an edgy rapid start to the album. At the
same time, Havrilla is introspective as sounds range from raw, thumping acoustic
guitars to the subtleties of violin. Her sound is difficult to pigeonhole, hence
Havrilla describes it as "Neofunkadelicfolkpoptwangrock!" The first release off
of “Velocity,” entitled "Hole in the Ground," topped Sirius Satellite Radio's
Hot 20 chart at #1 to start off 2007 and the second release, “Letting Go” spent
12 weeks on the chart. "I am absolutely enthralled with (Havrilla's) latest,
Velocity. From the start of the first song, “Hole in the Ground,” I'm
completely blown away and hooked," writes Madalyn Sklar (Founder/Publisher,
GoGirlsMusic.com - Houston, TX). Philadelphia Magazine simply states,
"She rocks!"
Opening for Christine is Joey Mutis, III of The Electric Farm.

14 Fri 8:00 pm | Bill Staines
From his origins in the Boston-Cambridge folk scene in the 1960s, Bill
Staines has spent the past four decades touring North America at venues
everywhere from festivals to colleges to coffeehouses. Throughout his career, he
has been rated best performer by many prestigious magazines, including the
Boston Globe, maintaining his popularity on the tour circuit to this day. His
performance tonight will be graced with not only his music and lyrics that tell
of his experiences from the prairies to the Yukon, but also his unique sense of
humor. Also expect sing-alongs to traditional folk songs and country ballads,
and perhaps even a little yodeling with the 1975 National Yodeling
Champion).

15 Sat 8:00 pm | Ben Arnold
A product of Philadelphia’s exceptional music scene and his tenure with the
popular and incredibly talented band “Four Way Street”, Ben Arnold has shared
the stage with performers like Lucinda Williams and Ben Folds, and
toured with the late Townes Van Zandt. Not just another singer
songwriter, his music has been described as unwittingly dreamy, delightfully
impetuous and uniquely human. Drawing from the history of Dylan, the
cantankerous spirit of Randy Newman and the soulful singing and
showmanship of Van Morrison, Ben continues to evolve and retain his own
singular style. We think he’s a perfect match for Godfrey’s sophisticated
audience. Guest emcee is WNTI programmer Jeff Rusch.

9:30 pm | Chris Smither with opener Denice Franke
- 7 pm show - sold Out! Tickets still available for the
9:30 show!
Chris Smither is a perennial favorite here at Godfrey’s. His complex, driving
guitar playing, growling voice, and playful, ironic lyrics take the solo blues
idiom to new places. Bringing his been-there, done-that voice along with the
crystalline, eloquent sounds of his finger-picked acoustic guitar to our stage,
Chris delivers like no other in what he himself calls one of his favorite rooms
to play. His 2006 release Leave the Light On shows how Chris just keeps
getting better and better, and includes such notables as Ollabelle,
Tim O’Brien, and Sean Staples. Pick one up at the concert!

- 7 pm show - sold Out! Tickets still available for the
9:30 show! John Gorka returns to his old haunt, Godfrey’s humble stage, to celebrate his
keen songwriting talents, acute musings on life, love, family, and the world and
his warm and entertaining stage presence. John, of course, has become one of the
premier songwriters around, period, still unaffected by the adulation of
audiences and fellow artists, and still able to communicate with his undeniable
charm and down-to-earth sensibilities. Needless to say, we are tremendously
proud of John, who honed his craft on our stage, and still takes a piece of
Godfrey’s out with him when he performs around the world. These performances
bring it all back home for us. Share it with us this evening.

Celtic music, has re-formed with percussionist and singer Emily Dugas,
