Preston Reed

Most great guitarists would be grateful to create a legacy of classic recordings, stand-out performances and blistering technique, but US-born Preston Reed has gone much further by inventing an entirely new way of playing the guitar. Reed fuses chord-based grooves, soaring melodic runs and polyrhythmic percussion with his breathtaking two-handed style. The power and depth of Reed's original compositions are as unique as his execution, as blues, rock, funk and jazz meet, interlock and attack to create a sonic brew quite unlike anything you've heard before. Each piece is a symphonic tidal wave, yet Reed needs only one guitar and ten fingers to unleash it onto audiences across the planet. The phrase ‘has to be seen to believed’ has never been more true!

BC & LEA - Live with The Combo

Sponsored by WDIY

BC & Lea bring us back to life in our season opening weekend. Lea Gilmore was named one of the “25 Women Shaping the World” in Essence magazine. Bev Conkiln continues to receive accolades in awards for her singing and performance. These two accomplished singers are reuniting to tear up the place with their brand of blues, soul, and gospel. Lea’s gospel background combined with her powerful vocals are nothing short of going to church and testifying! By contrast, BC brings the house down with her sultry and impassioned vocals. They cover a variety of styles together; don’t miss it!

Fil Campbell - Celtic Classic Preview

Northern Irish singer Fil Campbell comes from the border village of Belleek in Co. Fermanagh and was brought up on the folk songs that were popular in Fermanagh and Donegal. Fil left her career as a music publicist and radio presenter for BBC Northern Ireland to return to full time performing in 1990s, and has returned to her roots for her 4th CD, Songbirds, which is a charming collection of Irish folk songs that formed the musical backdrop to Ireland of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Fil won’t be at the festival this year, and we are honored that she’s making a stop on our humble stage – don’t miss it!
